Recently plasma polymerization techniques have been widely employed for biomedical applications. Both the instrument designs and the deposition mechanism of plasma polymerization are introduced firstly.The latest research progresses for various plasma deposited functional thin films are summarized,with particularly emphasis on their applications in biosensors,as supports for cell cultures,as well as,non-fouling coatings.The future trend of plasma polymerization techniques is also discussed.
