Currently, strength models of the concrete confined by FRP are built on ones of concrete columns confined by FRP. Compared with circular columns, the side-by-section shape makes a greater impact on square con-crete columns confined by FRP. The uneven stress of sides constraint caused by the stress concentration at the corner make effects of sides constraint of square columns wrapped by FRP reduce significantly, strength drop subsequent-ly. Based on the strength formula of cylinders confined by FRP, considered the influences of the effective core area ot square column and the comer effects, introduced corresponding and influencing coefficients, the paper buih up axial compressing strength model of square concrete coumns confined by BFRP, compared and analyzed the test data. The results suggest that the model has a high goodness of fit.
