对波分复用系统传输光纤中调制不稳定性激发的调制旁瓣的范围△λc进行了研究.△λc随输入信号功率P的增加而增加,在较大的功率处(〉10 dBm),△λc的增加很快;为限制调制不稳定性对P的影响,信道间隔△λ必须大于△λc.在小功率(<-10 dBm)处,调制不稳定性对光纤的信噪比(SNR)无影响,SNR随P的增大而增大,随传输长度l(或损耗)的增大而减小.当P较大时,调制不稳定性对光纤的信噪比产生影响,SNR随P的增大而减小,要使SNR达到最大值,P和l有一定的匹配关系.
