A coating on PDP phosphor by a thin and homogeneous layer of nano-scale colloidal Al_2O_3 and SiO_2 using the sol-gel method was investigated and the mechanism was studied. ICP-AES, SEM, FT-IR and powder XRD were employed to characterize the coating.
