Epitaxial La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) films with 7 ~ 100nm thick have grown on (001) (LaAlO3)0.3 ( Sr2AlTaO6 )0.7 (LSAT) substrates by using pulse laser deposition. The structure evolution of LSMO films are characterized carefully by high-resolution X-ray o-rocking curves and reciprocal space (103) maps. Our results indicate that all LSMO films are coherendy grown on LSAT (001). For the film with a thickness of 22 nm or above, there is both a modified mon-oclinic structure (MA ), and the shear strain relaxation can induce domain ordering and in-plane superlattice in the LSMO films. The thickness dependence of the domain width, as well the shear strain effect on the Curie temperate Tc was investi-gated carefully. In contrast, the lattice mismatch between the film and substrate impacts on the periodic domain ordering of the LSMO films was also discussed.
