The investigation shows that using internal combustion coal-oxygen burner for t he intensification of melting in EAF is feasible. Internal combustion coal-oxyg en burner is better than external combustion coal-oxygen burner in the performa nce and energy saving of the process. Electrical consumption is decreased by 40 kW*h/t, melting time is shortened by 18 min. The application of internal combus tion coal-oxygen burner has a significant effect on decreasing EAF energy consu mption.
