In this paper, 10 ,vol. pet SiCp/AZ91 magnesium matrix composite was fabricated by stir casting technology. The ingots were forged at temperatures of 320, 370 and 420 ℃, respectively. XRD, OM and SEM were used to characterize microstructure of the composites. It was shown that the clusters of particles in the as-cast composite were largely eliminated, and that the tensile strength was improved obviously.
