IUD是育龄妇女使用最广泛的避孕方法之一.从20世纪20年代发展至今,IUD在材质和形态上不断得到改进,避孕效果有了很大的提高,副作用也在不断降低.未来的IUD应该是功能性更强的避孕药具.例如在IUD中加入含有广谱抗菌性的无机抗菌剂银或锌离子,并设计成缓释系统,则IUD将具有安全、经济和长效抑菌的优点.重点展望了抗菌型IUD.
