Series of thermo-sensitive blending films are prepared from hydroxypropylcellulose and polyarcyloni-trile. The effects of materials ratio, pH value and temperature on these blending films swelling velocity are investigated. As temperature is lower than LCST, different results are found blending films samples are dipped in acid or base condition, such as pH value being 1. 4 and 7.4 respectively. Results from pH value of 1. 4 show that swelling velocity of HPC/PAN blending films increases with the addition of HPC, film's swelling is mainly controlled by polymer chain relaxation. But, it is controlled by water molecules diffusion under pH value of 7. 4. Swelling velocity is affected by both temperature and pH value.
