The process route of BOF-LF-CC for producing ML08Al cold heading steel is described in this paper. The technologies adopted in steelmaking process include strict choice of alloy and controlling of silicon content. In addition, slag deoxidation and strict composition control of the steel are implemented at argon blowing station to release the pressure for making white slag. Thanks to these measures, the problem of nozzle blocking has been solved and batch production of ML08Al cold heading steel goes smoothly.
