FORM AND EFFECT OF Zr IN CuCoBeZr ALLOY

Precipitation form of Zr in CuCoBeZr alloy during solidificotion.cooling and final aging,as well as its effect on the high temperature properties have been studied and discussed.Results show that during solidificotion and cooding.Zr precipitates as fine particle.Cu_3Zr,which pre- vents X-Cu grains from growing and provides more nuclei for CoBe and hence leads to finer primary CoBe.Fine Cu_3Zr partrticles also precipitate during aging. Because Co_3Zr is difficult to coalesce at high temperatures,the recrystallization temper- uture increases and the high temperature mechanical properties improve.

Retrieving Effective Stress Spectrum of Fatigued Components from Fractographic Quantitative Analysis

Under the constant amplitude and pro- grammed loading conditions the fatigued fracture surfaces of 2024-T3 sheet are examined by SEM and TEM.A corrected method,in which the effects of loading sequence are taken into account,has been developed for the retrieval of effective stress spectrum.The parameters including d,a,C,n,R,α and σ_y are evaluated according to their influences on the retrieved results.Several computer programs have been produced for the fractographic quantita- tive analysis,and the application of image pro- cessing technique in the fractographic analysis is al- so interpreted.

Deformation-induced Microstructures of High-Mn Austenite Steel

Deformation-induced microstructures of high-Mn austenite steel was investigated by metallography,X-ray diffraction and SEM.The ε-martensite and slip-bands are deformation-in- duced on the{111} planes,and appear as thin straight laths with 60~80° alignment difference be- tween them.It was found that ε-martensite and slip bands are kinked at fcc twin boundaries with the kinked angle 35~40°.The bands of equilateral triangle in the microstructure of tensile deformation are presented.
